A Michigan native, Dr. Driessnack is a caring professional who has spent the majority of his career in Peoria. He spent a short time in Nashville, TN (2008–2010) as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In addition to instructing orthopaedic surgery residents, Dr. Driessnack practiced adult reconstruction, and cared for hip and knee reconstruction problems such as dysplasia of the hip, and post-traumatic hip and knee problems. Additionally while at Vanderbilt Dr. Driessnack trained in the techniques of the very successful Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure for use in the younger and more physically-active population.

A regular attendee at hip and knee meetings each year, Dr. Driessnack recently participated in a multi-center national clinical study comparing two types of knee prosthesis designs, and presented the findings at an international meeting in 2009. He has several publications in national journals, and continues to work on research with the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute in Nashville, TN. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society. In 2008 Dr. Driessnack received a “Best Doctors in America” award.

Dr. Driessnack and his wife, Jan, moved back to Peoria in late 2010. They have raised three children here and they all are now married. He and his wife are happily enjoying their growing number of grandchildren, as well as singing in the church choir. Medical missions trips also occupy much of his service-oriented work. He is looking forward to seeing many former patients and friends in the years ahead.
