Bio
Dr. Maltz grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago before relocating to Kalamazoo, Michigan. He attended medical school at Michigan State University and completed his orthopedic residency training in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Maltz pursued fellowship training in orthopedic trauma surgery in Minneapolis, Minnesota prior to joining Great Plains Orthopedics in 2024.
Dr. Maltz has a special interest in the treatment of a wide range of fractures and traumatic orthopedic injuries. This includes simple low energy fractures, complex high energy injuries, including periarticular and pelvic fractures. He also has interest in the use of total hip arthroplasty for the treatment of specific injuries. He enjoys treating trauma patients because of the challenge of coming up with unique solutions for each individual case. Also, the ability to have a direct impact on improving the patient’s condition at very challenging times in their lives is extremely rewarding.
Outside of work, Dr. Maltz enjoys playing hockey, trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends & family, and spending time with his wife and daughters.
